Aurifil's second Color Builder Set expands upon the first one and takes inspiration from endangered animals worldwide and not just Italy's landscape. Aurifil has chosen animals currently in dire need of attention, advocacy, and compassion. This collection has 12 variations to choose from, and each group has three large spools of 40-weight thread in warm, medium, and dark colors. Each spool holds 1094 yards of two-ply, 100% Egyptian Cotton thread.

Aurifil's 40-weight thread is slightly thicker than other threads, so it's ideal for sewing bags, toys or dolls, garments, or a more defined topstitch. You can also use it in single, double, triple-strand cross-stitch, hand piecing, bobbin and machine lace, machine applique, machine embroidery, edge-to-edge, pantographs, and longarm quilting. Some needle recommendations include an 80/12 sharp, universal, or denim needle. You can also use a 90/14 or 75/11 quilting needle and a 3.5 or 4.0 long-arm needle.
